She was predeceased by: her parents, William Maher and Lena Maher (McGill); and her husband Willis G. Calkins. She is survived by: her sons, Bill Calkins of Iowa City and Seth Calkins (Deana) of Iowa City; her grandchildren, Tyler (Jessica), Tanner, Rebecca and Hunter; her great grandchildren, Brooklynn, Jeremiah and Lillian Rose; her pet Eppie; Daisy. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Instead of flowers and plants, the family suggests memorials to The Salvation Army or Friends of the Animal Center Foundation.
