As we bid farewell to this cherished soul, solace is taken in the memories held dear — the laughter shared, the wisdom imparted, the moments of quiet reflection in their presence. Though Doug may no longer walk among us, his spirit lives on in the echoes of his kindness, the warmth of his embrace, and the light of his enduring love.
He is survived by: his wife Linda; his stepdaughters, Elizabeth Verhage (George) and Juliet Decker (Brian); and his grandchildren, Cameron, Julien Cook and Jason Decker.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 15th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM at 1645 N Scott Blvd, Iowa City, IA 52245. A funeral service will be held on Sunday, June 15th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location. A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, June 15th 2025 at 5:00 PM at 141 Park Rd, Iowa City, IA 52242.
In lieu of flowers, Doug would want contributions made to Harvest Preserve.
