He was predeceased by: his parents, John Arthur and Nellie Tvedt (Thiel); his sister Virginia Fredericks; and his grandson Benjamin Tvedt. He is survived by: his wife Gail Gustafson; his children, Kevin Tvedt of Iowa City, Iowa, Kimberly Biegger (Brian) of Loveland, Ohio, Lisa McLaughlin (Marty) of Marion, Iowa, Daniel Tvedt of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Brian Tvedt (Denise) of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Kristen Olson (Randy) of Las Vegas, Nevada and John Tvedt (Roseanne) of Stevensville, Maryland; and his sisters, Roberta Scheid of Montour, Iowa, Carol Rinella of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida and Kathy Casey of Gaffney. He is also survived by nineteen grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Alzheimer's Association, Iowa City Hospice, University of Iowa Stead Family Children's Hospital or St. Patrick's Church.
