He was predeceased by: his parents, George Anderson and Annie Anderson (Riley); his son James Leo Anderson; his son-in-law Todd M. Plath; and his siblings, Helen Wessels, Shirley Waters, James Anderson and Eugene Anderson.

He is survived by: his wife Catherine Beasley; his brothers, Robert Anderson (Pam) and George Anderson (Leanne); his children, Jack Anderson (Kim Schlabach), Scott Anderson (Tammi), Debra Plath and Jill Skay (Steve); his daughter-in-law Diane Meyer (Bob); and his grandchildren, Nicholas Anderson (Melissa), Angela Poggenpohl, Mallory Zielinski (Trevor), Jessica Hubbard (Scott), Michael Plath (Jordan), McKenzie Anderson, Amanda Lankford (Marcus), Mark Plath (Haley) and Shana Skay (Vinny Picardi). He is also survived by 12 Great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established to support causes important to Duane.
