She was predeceased by: her parents, Frank Nelson and Sarah "Sadie" Nelson (Slattery); her daughter Lynn Valet; her grandson Eric Ebinger; her sibling's children, Robby Tingleff and Cheryl Tingleff; and her brother-in-law Robert Tingleff.
She is survived by: her husband Edwin Vandergrift Emrick; her children, Susan Batista of Omaha, NE, Carol Ebinger (Jeff) of Iowa City, James Emrick (Julie) of Belleville, WV and Allen Emrick (Kathy) of Washington, WV; her grandchildren, Brian Valet (Jody), Becky Valet, Alex Ebinger (Lindsey Daugherty), Tracy Beha (Jesse), Tanya Pascua (Rae), Michael Allman and Jill Allman; her great grandchild Alexis Beha; her son-in-law Gerald Valet of Kansas City, MO; and her siblings, Eunice Nelson of Clinton, Madonna Tingleff of Des Moines and Joseph Nelson (Judy) of Clinton. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
