It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Gerald John O'Brien of Iowa City, Iowa, born in Cascade, Iowa, who passed away on June 19, 2021, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Donald O'Brien and Mary O'Brien (Krall). He is survived by: his nephews, Andrew (Andy), Brien (Ashley) and Trenton "TJ" O'Brien; his great-nephew Conner; his cousin Julie McNeal (Tim Bren); and his friends, Dick, Karen Schultschik and Mary Jo Langhorn.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made in his memory to the Stead Children's Hospital in Iowa City.
