She was predeceased by: her parents, Aaron Braverman and Faye Braverman. She is survived by: her brother Kent Braverman; her husband Richard Haendel; her daughters, Melissa Anne Haendel and Erica Stephanie Haendel; her sons-in-law, John Campbell and William Yingling; her grandchildren, Samuel Haendel and Madison Yingling; and her nephews, Cordell Braverman, Joshua Braverman, Jeremy Braverman and Karl Haendel.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the Hawkeye Area Community Action Program (HACAP) Food Reservoir, Iowa City Hospice or Tunnels to Towers Foundation.
