She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph Sladek and Frances Sladek (Duttlinger); her husband Richard Haman; her son Jim; and her siblings, Joe Sladek and Doris Roberts.
She is survived by: her children, Joyce Showman, Judee Strommer, Janet Dvorsky (Dave) and Jerry Haman (Ruth); her grandchildren, Christopher, Jessica, Stephanie, Shelby, Stacey, Richard, Sarah, Ashley and Joshua; and her sister-in-law Nancy Sladek. She is also survived by eight great grandchildren and one expectant great-grandchild.
Visitation will be held on Monday, July 28th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Mary Catholic Church - Iowa City (228 E Jefferson St, Iowa City, IA 52245). A Mass will be held on Monday, July 28th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Joan's name.
