It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joan Hudson Detwiler Jehle (Iowa City, Iowa), born in Janesville, Wisconsin, who passed away on March 30, 2024, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by : her parents, Baird Edward Detwiler and Veryl Evelyn Christgau Detwiler; her brother Stephen; her grandparent Christgau; her in-laws, Robert and Esther Jehle; her siblings-in-law, Karen Jehle, Harold Jehle and George "Corky" Jehle; and her former life partner Donald Jehle.

She is survived by : her children, Scott Jehle (Kelly) and Susan Jehle (Chris Dautremont); her granddaughter Erin Jehle (Mike Alderson); her great grandchildren, Rilynn Alderson and Rowan Alderson; her granddaughter Ryan Dawson (Wesley Dawson); her great grandchildren, Xander Dawson, Elliana Dawson and Emerson Dawson; her niece Melanie Stutzman (Bob) of Wellman; her brother Robert; her sister-in-law Mary Jo Jehle of Cedar Rapids; and also Lynn Jehle.

“Dear Scott, Susan and Family: I was deeply sadden to hear of Aunt Joan's passing. She was such an amazing woman! I loved her so much! She always made me smile and her kindness to others and animals was infectious. I will always remember her with a beautiful smile on her face. I know she had been struggling with health issues these past years but she is home now and can be a peace. Much love to you and all of the extended family.
