She was predeceased by: her parents, Jack Kaplan and Margaret Kaplan. She is survived by: her husband Brian; her children, Jordan and Tyler; her sister Donna Bender (Craig); and her parents-in-law, Lori Pike (Tod), Robin Joens (Scott), Sheri Rector (Donny), Steve Ricar (Jan), Mark Mitchell, Scott Mitchell and Tom Mitchell. She is also survived by nieces, nephews and many dear friends.
In lieu of flowers, Kris' family will contribute memorial donations to the Iowa City City High Girls Track & Field Team or the Iowa House at Mooseheart, causes that are near and dear to Kris and her family.
