He was predeceased by: his parents, Reverend Otto H. Beer and Lena Beer (Blume); his wife Josephine Beer; his children, Michael, Cynthia Beer and Connie Kinney; his son-in-law Edwin Kinney; his siblings, Herbert Beer, Helen Sandersfeld, Paula Sandersfeld, Esther Sandersfeld and Norma Mollison; and his siblings-in-law, Genevieve Meier and Kenneth Mente.
He is survived by: his former wife Jo Mente; his son Ted (Deborah); his sisters, Sylvia Taulbee and Lois Dunnavent; and his sister-in-law Geraldine Reeve. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and eight great grandsons.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be directed to The Birdhouse hospice or Our Redeemer Lutheran Church.
