He was predeceased by: his parents, Dr. Edward "Hap" and Jean Neufeld; and his sister Barbara. He is survived by: his daughter Amanda (Colton); his wife Lori Ishizaki; his sisters, Nancy (Ed) and Linda (Greg); and his pets, Murphy, Sabre and Kona.

Pre-pandemic, he owned Complete Travel in Ankeny.
