We bid farewell to Ruth Alice Bartels-Whalen of Iowa City, Iowa, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on June 7, 2025 at the age of 98. Ruth Alice touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by: her parents, Roy Frank and Eunice Mildred Davison (Murphy); her former husband Dr. Edward R. Bartels; her husband Jerry Whalen; and her siblings, Rita Ralston and Richard Davison.
She is survived by: her children, Lisa Jones (Rick) of Loveland, CO and Ed Bartels (Judy Reese) of Missoula, MT; her brother Robert Davison (Shirley) of Longmont, CO; her sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Bray and Joni Davison of Dubuque, IA; and her grandchildren, Corbin, Langston (Allegra), Kim (Carlos), Roy (Stacey), Brian, Christopher, Julia, Daniel and Oliver. She is also survived by five great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
