He was predeceased by: his parents, Wilbur Kirchner and Trudy Kirchner; and his brothers, Jim and Rich (Mary). He is survived by: his wife Gail Conner; his children, Sara Morlan (Bob) of Tiffin and Chad Kirchner (Shannon) of Monticello; his brother Dan Kirchner (Denise) of Toledo; his sister-in-law Mary Kirchner of Toledo; his stepchildren, Meggan Montgomery, Lindsay Montgomery of Iowa City and Landon Conner of North Liberty; his grandchildren, Tommy and Mayla Morlan of Tiffin; his stepgrandchildren, Abagail Whitehouse of Tiffin, Rachel Whitehouse of Cedar Rapids, Olivia Hanlon of Iowa City, Zachariah and Elijah Torson of Marion; his stepgreat-granddaughters, Leah and Elenor Whitehouse of Tiffin; and his pet Marta. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, friends.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 10th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Lensing Funeral & Cremation Service- Iowa City (605 Kirkwood Ave, Iowa City, IA 52244-0167). A memorial service will be held on Sunday, August 10th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to The Arc of Southeast Iowa.
