He was predeceased by: his parents, Lloyd Abbott and Margaret Abbott (Vikel); and his siblings, Bennie, George, Lois, Donna Mae and Joan.

He is survived by: his siblings, Francis Drollinger (Chuck) of Iowa City, JoAnn Dahnke (Lyle) of Muscatine and Ralph Abbott (Terry) of Dixon. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews, and many caring friends.
