He was predeceased by: his parents, Hugh Franklin and Bessie Fern Nye. He is survived by: his wife Loretta Kaneer; his children, Franklin Edward Nye (Kathy) of Argyle, IA, Cindy Sue Steele and Devella Ann Riles (Darryl) of Luray, MO; and his grandchildren, Candy Jo Wenke (Eugene), Shawn Nye (Courtney), Adam Nye (Robin), Amber Nye (Lavern Lowery), Andrew Nye (Jessica), Austin Nye (Tasha) and Heather Steele (Rayne Duran). He is also survived by fifteen great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild and nieces and nephews.
