He was predeceased by: his parents, Leland Leon and Zenta Henderson Floyd; and his sister Hylma June Pearson. He is survived by: his wife Esther James Ekle; his children, Kathleen Michelle Bassett (Tim) of Fort Walton Beach, FL, Marc Lee Floyd (Kayla Tonkin) of Keokuk and Joel James Floyd (Stephanie) of Birmingham, AL; his grandchildren, Adaira, Zane Lee, Alyssa, Blake, Bailey and Molly Bleu; his brother Dr. Gary Floyd (Myrna) of Columbus Ohio; and his siblings-in-law, Russ James (Linda), Robert James, Janice Morrow and Paula Herman. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Keokuk Baseball and Basketball Youth Leagues.
