He was predeceased by: his grandfather Hubert Thorn; and his mother Carla McKune. He is survived by: his grandmother Helen Thorn of Keokuk; his sons, Vaughn Dorsey of Shakopee, MN and Alex Zier of Kahoka, MO; and his siblings, Becky Anderson (Bruce) of Bricelyn, MN, Cheyenne McKune of Fort Madison and Curtis McKune (Valkyrie Clancy) of Keokuk. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
