He was predeceased by : his parents, Arthur Brown and Anna Brown (Ross); his daughter Cindy Ryssman; his granddaughter Jennifer Ryssman; and his siblings, Arthur Brown, Jr. and Marian Smith.

He is survived by : his wife Joan Leonard of Lake City; and his daughters, Peggy Galletley of Lake City and Barbara Cowell of Corona, CA. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandson.
