We are sad to announce that on November 5, 2020, at the age of 77, Karen Kay Barton Sparkes of Lamoni, Iowa, born in Des Moines, Iowa passed away. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by : her parents, Lawrence Albert and Evelyn Alberta Owens (Boles); her siblings, Jack Owens and Carol Owens; and her husband George Barton.

She is survived by : her former life partner William Lane Keeling; her husband Kevin Sparkes of Lamoni, Iowa; her children, Ronald Barton (Sherri) of Cainsville, Missouri and Jackie Lochmann (Vic) of Chariton, Iowa; her grandchildren, Dallas Barton of Grand River, Damien Barton (Brandie) of Grand River, Brandi Cook (Zeb) of Cainsville, Garett Barton (Christine Christman) of Cainsville, Kayla Lochmann (Josh Lang) of Newburyport, Cheyanne Nickell (Mike) of Russell and Taylor Lochmann (Dustin Updike) of Van Wert, Iowa; and her great grandchildren, Gabby, Autumn, Brooklyn, Jackson, Halie, Larissa, Ella, Ace, Owen, Kage, Kyson, Luke, Jamie and Scarlett. She is also survived by other relatives and many friends.
