He was predeceased by: his parents, Jimmie Hopkins and Annabel Hopkins (Wickland); his sister Pat; his brother-in-law Jerry Volkert; and his great grandchild Darren Glanzer.
He is survived by: his wife Julie Horner; his sons, Steve (Susan) and Paul (Christie); his grandchildren, Chris Glanzer (Kathryn), Brittany Bungert (Tim), Alex Hopkins (Krystina) and Jenny Hopkins; and his great grandchildren, Anna Furmenger (Lewis), Paul Glanzer, Ben Bungert, Elizabeth Bungert, Anna Bungert and Ellis Hopkins.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 7th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the Methodist Church (901 3rd Ave SE, Le Mars, IA 51031). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 7th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research or Siouxland Habitat for Humanity.
