He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Frank Ernst and Bernetta Ernst (Wanderscheid); his spouse Jan Bunkers; his children, Kathy Kjose (Brad) of Alcester, SD and Mike Ernst (Tracie) of Le Mars, IA; his grandchildren, Jarod Ernst, Alyssa Borchers and Cole Ernst; his great grandchild Carsen Ernst; his brothers, Bob Ernst (Lois) of Le Mars and Dennis Ernst (Joan) of Le Mars; his sisters-in-law, Mary Ann Goebel (Gerald) of Granville, IA and Marcy Bunkers of Sioux City, IA; his parents-in-law, Roman and Madeleine Bunkers; and his siblings-in-law, Bob Bunkers and Sandy Ernst. He was also cherished by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
