He was predeceased by: his parents, Kieffer G. Garton and Madge Garton (Dunn); his brother Keiffer; his sister-in-law Lela Garton; and his grandson Kelvin Garton Brown.
He is survived by: his aunt Mardelle Southard (Boyd); his children, Frank, Hilary of Blacksburg, SC and Holly of Shenandoah, Iowa; his wife Ann Weber of Wapello, Iowa.; his children, Franklin of Humeston and Heather; his son-in-law William Kummerer of Dallas, Texas; his daughter Heidi; his son-in-law Ron Bassman of Des Moines; his daughter Hope; and his son-in-law Ryan Brown of Fort Dodge. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, two great-granddaughters, and one great-great grandson.
