She was predeceased by: her parents, George Edward and Neoma Pearl Leahy (Robison); and her siblings, Ben Leahy, Don Leahy, Jon Leahy and Maureen Burns.
She is survived by: her former husband John Franklin Smith; her children, Monica Lynn (Mark Kilgore), Karin Ruth (Jerry McBroom), Kevin John (Leilani Smith) and Diana Smith of Morehead City; and her grandchildren, Royce (Crystal), Scott (Beth), Erin (Nate), Skye (Jon), Taylor (Jon), Matthew (Mengyu), Andrea, Cody (Nicole), Tiffany and Dylan (Lisa). She is also survived by several great grandchildren; two great, great grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.
Memorials may be given to the Leon Food Pantry in Monica's memory.
