He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Melver and Eva Melver (Henderson); his children, Jim and Ruth; and his siblings, Robert "Bob" (Grace), Kermit (Mary), Earl, George "Bill" (Francis), Norman (Eileen), Richard "Dick" (Sheryl), Tom, Edward, Edwin, Grace Schorr (Al), Ann Balk (Bob) and Wanda Lawsen (Billy).
He is survived by: his wife Carol; his daughter-in-law Jody Melver; his grandchildren, Amie Yoder (Mose), Holly Bass (James) and Samuel Melver (Anh); his great grandchildren, Carol Elsner and Allie Luan Melver; his great great grandchild Caladaugh Rankin; his great-nephew Eric Borseth; and his brothers, Leonard "Doc" and Oscar "Butch" Balk (Pat). He is also survived by 15 siblings, 3 sisters and 11 brothers.
