He was loved and cherished by many people including : his father William James Gordon; his wife Virginia Cunningham; his children, Sandra Haupt (Gary), Steven (Karen), Michael (Carol), Douglas and Mark; his grandchildren, Hans, Heather, Sara, Ben, Amy, Peter, Laura, Finlay, Willem, Cody, Troy and Tanner; and his great grandchildren, Hazel and Mark.
After many years of Alzheimer's he contracted COVID-19 and was cared for by Hospice of Dubuque.
