It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gertrude Marie Zaruba of Maquoketa, Iowa, born in Oxford, Iowa, who passed away on April 15, 2024, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by : her parents, Beulah Leslie and Chapman; her husband Francis Wayne; her siblings, George, Melvin, Allen, Roland Leslie, Mildred Clapp, Viola Flory and Majorie Brotherton; and her granddaughter Alicia Norman.

She is survived by : her children, Vicki Norman (Bill) of Houston, TX, Sheryl Crist (Richard) of Maquoketa, IA, Scott "Frank" Zaruba (Wendy) of Maquoketa, IA and Tim Zaruba of Bettendorf, IA; and her siblings-in-law, Chuck Brotherton and Jane Leslie.

Visitation was held on Monday, April 22nd 2024 from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the Carson Celebration (318 W Pleasant St, Maquoketa, IA 52060). A celebration of life was held on Monday, April 22nd 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
