He was predeceased by : his parents, Joseph Derganz and Agatha Derganz (Weis). He is survived by : his wife Diane Hinke of Maquoketa, IA; his children, Philip Derganz (Yolanda Bennett) of Maquoketa, IA, Sara Derganz (Marty Clark) of Maquoketa, IA and Matt Potter of Monmouth, IA; and his siblings, JoAnn Mensing of Lowden, IA, Kenneth Derganz of Maquoketa, IA and Linda Borchers (Chuck) of Toronto, IA.

In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, a Larry H. Derganz memorial fund has been established.
