It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Leona Anna Marie Danker of Marengo, Iowa, born in Van Horne, Iowa, who passed away on May 19, 2025, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Hans Petersen and Lena Petersen (Hessenius); her husband John H. Danker of John's Lutheran Church; her son Steven Danker; and her siblings, Harold (Lauretta), Wilbert (Velma), Ralph (Patty), Lorenz Petersen and Frances Hapfeld.
She is survived by: her son Mark Danker (Sarri) of Fayette; her grandchildren, Whitney Griffith (Ian), Joshua (Emily), Jonathan, Samuel (Tatum Sharp) and Levi Danker; her great grandchild Elias Griffith; her daughter-in-law Julie Danker of Waterloo; and her sister-in-law Bernice Petersen of Anamosa.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to St. John's Lutheran Church.
