He was predeceased by: his parents, Aloysius Heims and Winifred Heims (Prull); his brother James Heims; his niece Karen Klostermann; and his nephews, Terry Pasker, Justin Heims and Gabriel Heims.
He is survived by: his wife Judy Heims of Marion; his children, Kim Rose of Marion, Greg Heims (Jessica Shelton) of Cedar Rapids and Kathy Van Erdewyk (Tom) of Carroll, Iowa; his grandchildren, Andrea Rose (Adam), Brad Rose (Kristin), Rachel Brooks (Bobby), Derek Drexler (Kayla), Brent Van Erdewyk (Megan) and Brenden Heims; his great grandchildren, Harper, Raelynn and Greyson; his siblings, John Heims (Marsha) of Mt. Vernon, Vivian Klostermann (Tom) of Coggon, Mary Ann Pasker (Dave) of Blairstown, Robert Heims (Julianna) of Cedar Rapids, Patricia Kuhn (Bob) of Austin, Paul Heims (Sandy) of Anamosa, David Heims (Diane) of Toddville, Mike Heims (Linda) of Cedar Rapids, Tom Heims (Jan) of Marion, Lee Heims (Brenda) of Cedar Rapids and Dan Heims of Shellsburg, Iowa; and his sister-in-law JoAnne Heims of Anamosa. He is also survived by many in-laws, nieces, nephews and cousins.
