He was predeceased by: his parents, Gerhard Geers and Frieda Geers (Henkels); his wife Mary Ann; and his brothers, Rudy, Joe, Jim, John and Jerry.
He is survived by: his children, Robert Geers (Stephanie) of Cedar Rapids, Roger Geers (Judy) of Urbana, Donna Wolf (Dan) of Plano, Dianne Moyer (Tim) of Coggon and Randy Geers (Kelly) of Northglenn, Colorado; his grandchildren, Kristin Stakland (Eric), Elizabeth Kaiser, Jacob Geers (Erica), Cory Geers (Katie), Brian Moyer (Hallie), Luke Geers (Dominique), Laura Geers, Chelsie Geers, Quinn Wolf, Joel Geers, Kyle Wolf and Ian Ortiz (Lauren); his siblings, Rosie Klien, Ed Geers, Bud Geers (Bonnie), Fritz Geers (Mary), Bill Geers (Ginny), Gertie Hunt (Ralph), Steve Geers (Lila), Chuck Geers (Vickie) and Clara Cole (Jack); and his siblings-in-law, Sharon Wiskus (Merle), Pat Geers, Germain Schilling, John Hoefler, Clarence "Clem" Hoefler (Joan), Eileen Simon (Jim) and Dave Hoefler (Joyce). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Al's memory.
