He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Fleming and Bessie Fleming (Mahon); his wife Etta M. Rehkopf; his great grandchild Ellie; his siblings, Bernice Alley, Lois (Kay Jones) and Harold (Arveda Webber); and his brother-in-law Dick Rehkopf.
He is survived by: his children, Tana Leaverton (Tom) of Cedar Rapids and Morrie Fleming of Marion; his grandchildren, Michael Schmitt of Cedar Rapids, Holly Sitzmann (Eric) of Cedar Falls and Tommy Schmitt of Cedar Rapids; his great grandchild Emmett Sitzmann; his brother Valvert Fleming of Fairfield; and his sister-in-law Wanda Abernathy of Burlington. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Per state and federal guidance on gatherings due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the family will not be having services for the public at this time.
In lieu of flowers, memorials will be directed to local youth baseball programs.
