He is survived by: his daughter Melody Ewald of Raleigh; his stepdaughter Trisha Thurston of Florida; his stepgranddaughter Harper; his siblings, Linda Weber (Denny) of Cedar Rapids, Nancy Quelle (Steve) of Cedar Rapids and Ron Ewald of West Branch, Iowa; his sister-in-law Kathy Ewald of Keota, Iowa; and his nieces and nephews, Australian Shepherd and Blue Healer Mix.
