He was predeceased by: his parents, Melvin Rammelsberg and Nettie Rammelsberg (Krug); his sisters, Norma Hanson and Carol Baumann; and his brother-in-law Robert Whitlatch.
He is survived by: his former wife Joan Daily; his children, John Rammelsberg of Cedar Rapids, Anne Rammelsberg-Rodriguez (Jose) of Decatur, IL and Ruth Paarmann (Bill) of Cedar Rapids; his grandchildren, Rachelle Rammelsberg (Patrick) of Center Point, Jacob Rammelsberg (Briar) of Vinton and Jordan Rammelsberg (Katie) of Cedar Rapids; his great grandchildren, Kaydyn, Kollyn, Rowan, Ellie, Elias and Oliver; his sisters, Alice Whitlatch of Tipton and Eunice Pingenot (Tom) of Vinton; and his aunt Martha Edwards of Vinton. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
