It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Janice Rae Schmidt of Marion, Iowa, born in Monticello, Iowa, who passed away on March 12, 2022, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Allen Reyner and Rachel Reyner (Leggett); her siblings, Max, Sam, Norma, Alleyne, Hazel and Betty; and her daughter-in-law Paula Schmidt.
She is survived by: her husband Jene Schmidt of Marion; her children, Drew Schmidt (Chery) of Monroe, LuAnn White (Jay) of Cedar Rapids, Mark Schmidt of Florence and Melinda Gordon (Kelly) of Palo, Iowa; and her sisters, Mary and Eleanor "Tuddy". She is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A memorial fund has been established in Janice's name and donations may be directed to the family.
