He was predeceased by: his brother-in-law Russell Pruess; and his niece Joni Pruess. He is survived by: his wife Linda Bousek; his daughter Brenda Heth (Josh); his grandchildren, Jacob Heth and Anna Heth of Marion; and his brother Wayne Bousek (Janie) of Greenville.

In lieu of flowers, memorials maybe directed to the Junior Diabetes Research Foundation in Joe's name.
