She was predeceased by: her parents, Luther Bates and Beulah Bates (Gates); her daughter-in-law Lorie Thompson; and her brother-in-law Lane McClellen. She is survived by: her husband Larry Thompson of Marion; her sons, Mark Thompson (Tami) of Marion and Kurt Thompson of Lakeville, Minnesota; her sisters, Barbara McClellen of Omaha and Patricia Crom (Norman) of Tabor, Iowa; and her pet Paisley. She is also survived by four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Margret's memory may be made to Antioch Christian Church in Marion, Iowa, or Samaritan's Purse in Boone, North Carolina.
