It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Merle Cole (Marion, Iowa), born in Manchester, Iowa, who passed away on June 24, 2019, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Cole and Vera Cole (Gibbs); his wife Janet Cole; and his siblings, Donald, Marvin, Earl, Harold, Dale Cole and Dorothy Pitcher.
He is survived by: his former wife Janet Mary Rubner; his sons, Mark Cole (Lora) of Marion, Steve Cole (Kim) of Marion and Jeff Cole (Teri) of Marion; and his siblings-in-law, Paul Rubner (Jane) of Masonville, Carol Ross of Manchester, Wilma Stallman of Watkins, Jane Trott (Drew) of Winthrop and Julie Main (Terry) of Urbandale. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren.
