He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Jefferson and Frances Marie Franks (McLain); his brothers, Jack Franks (Carol), Bob Franks and Richard Franks; and his son-in-law Eric Lamb.
He is survived by: his former wife Judith Bates; his wife Melanie White Brubaker (Brewer); his children, Jeffrey Franks (Kelli) of Cedar Rapids, Christopher Franks (Jenifer) of Palo and Sarah Lamb of Cedar Rapids; his brother Jerry Franks (Gwen) of Arizona; and his sister-in-law Jane Franks. He is also survived by five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren as well as several extended family members and friends.
