He was predeceased by: his son Richard Knapp; and his parents, Fred Knapp and Stella Knapp (Pemberton). He is survived by: his children, Roger Knapp (Kim) of Cedar Rapids and Renee Knapp (Juana) of Marion; his siblings, Ruby Drexler of Central City and Bill Knapp of Zearing, Iowa.; his great grandchildren, Wyatt Hawkins, Haley Knapp, Cory Knapp, Jill Knapp and Scott Knapp (Rachel); and his wife Carol M. Merritt.

Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society in memory of Ronald.
