He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Sickles and Jessie Sickles (Bolsinger); his son Donald "Donnie" Jr.; and his siblings, Doris Mulholland, Cletus Sickles and Merle Sickles.

He is survived by: his wife Rita Kay Martin; his children, Donna Sickles (Cheryl Crumley), Bob Sickles (Jenny) and John Sickles (Lori); his grandchildren, Josh, Miakayla, Austin, Sarah, Eric, Emily, Molly, Shayla and Becca; and his siblings, Ray Sickles, Daemond Sickles, Shirley Olsen (Leroy) and Florence Brown.
