She was predeceased by: her parents, Lynn Smith and Jeanne Smith (Crabtree); and her sister Dorothy Miller. She is survived by: her husband Charles Dodd; her children, Tom Dodd of Marshalltown, IA, Emily Spradling (Jim) of Panora, IA, Jim Dodd of Des Moines, IA and John Dodd (Shelly Wenz) of St. Michael, MN; her granddaughters, Aly Durey (Bill), Stephanie Dodd and Rachel Dodd; and her sister Joanne Hendricks of Cedar Rapids, IA..
