It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Darrell Lee Avery (Meservey, Iowa), who passed away on April 29, 2020, at the age of 75, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Harwood Avery and Idella Avery (Janssen); his children, Scott Avery and Brooke Avery; and his brother-in-law Duane Davis.
He is survived by: his former wife Deborah Ann Fortsch; his wife Deb Avery of Meservey; his daughter Beth Avery of Meservey; his granddaughters, Haley Englehardt (Josh) of Des Moines and Sierra Bailey of Meservey; and his siblings, Della Shoop (Doug) of Klemme, Diane Davis of Ventura, Doris Peterson (Dennis) of Iowa City, Darwin Avery (Brenda) of Ventura, Denis Avery (Wanda) of Meservey and Dean Avery (Rebecca) of Meservey.
Due to state and federal guidance on gatherings due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the family will not be having a public memorial at this time.
Family suggests memorial contributions to the Vietnam Veterans of America-Iowa State Council.
