We are sad to announce that on October 20, 2021, at the age of 69, Jan Despain of Milford, Iowa, born in Spencer, Iowa passed away. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Jan Despain to pay them a last tribute.

She was predeceased by : her parents, Oliver "Ollie" P. Bennett and Rowena "Row" D. Burson Bennett; and her husband Thomas DeSpain. She is survived by : her former life partner Leif Henning Lågeide; her friends, Doug Eihousen and Jeremy Reynolds; her daughter Leah Gaylen Laageide; her sisters, Jean Kenner of Marshalltown, IA, Cassandra "Cass" (Samuel Williamson) of Charlevoix, Michigan and Carla Marsh (Jim Godberson); and her nieces and nephews, Lee, Ben Kenner, Jessie, Carl Williamson and Hunter Marsh.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Human Society of Northwest Iowa and/or the Great Lakes Cherish House.
