He was predeceased by : his parents, Melvin Arnold and Esther Emma Potter (Smith); his former life partner Joyce Clary; his stepson Freddie "Harguss"; and his brothers, Robert, Arnold, Raymond, Ronald and Sidney.
He is survived by : his former life partner Brenda Lange of Canton, Iowa; his children, Tonya Potter of Maquoketa, Angie McDermitt (Mark) of Keizer, Nathan Potter (Shelby Stecklein) of Canton and Lacie Potter (Christian Jordan) of Lowden, Iowa; his daughter-in-law Melissa Potter of Maquoketa, Iowa; and his brother Jack Potter of Clinton, Iowa. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
