She was predeceased by : her parents, Clarence Clair and Freda Ghuste St. Clair; her husband Donald Richard Black; her son Daniel Black; her grandson Roy Patterson; and her stepmother Drucilla "Toots" St. Clair.

She is survived by : her children, Joe Black of Montrose and Libby Ketterer (Ed) of Keokuk; her stepdaughter Helen Porter of Fredericksburg, VA; her grandchildren, Anthony Patterson, Eva Best (Larry), Christopher Black (Andy Rodriguez), Jeania Weber (Geoff), Jonathon Ketterer (Jennifer) and Steven Ketterer; her brother Roger St. Clair of Minnesota; and her pet Petey. She is also survived by eleven great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the VFW Auxiliary, the Wounded Warrior Project or the Keokuk Animal Shelter.
