It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Lela Ione Essick (Moville, Iowa), born in Lawton, Iowa, who passed away on July 25, 2018, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by : her parents, Lloyd Johnson and Elsie Johnson (Bolton); her siblings, Leonard Johnson (Mickey), Armin Johnson (Carol), Noah Johnson (Marge), Darrell Johnson, Isaac "Ike" Johnson and Erma Johnson; and her grandchild Joshua Smith (James Wakeman).

She is survived by : her children, Cathryn Marie Nelson (Dwyer) of Sioux City, Bruce Wangerin (Pam) of Hawarden, IA, Ernest Wangerin (Christine) of Navarre Beach, FL, Derrick Wangerin of Alcester, SD and Elsie Dooley (Patrick) of Alcester, SD; and her sisters-in-law, JoAnne Johnson of Sioux City and Alice Johnson of Brunswick, MO.. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews.
