He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Harper and Margaret Evelyn King Harper; his brother-in-law Al Darting; and his nephews, Kyle DeCoster and Giles Josyln.
He is survived by: his wife Jean Harper of Muscatine; his children, Deborah Blackburn (Sam) of Preston, Greg Harper (Karen) of Muscatine, Teresa Harp (James) of Polk City, Patricia Henriksen (Eric) of Muscatine, James Harper (Jonia) of Muscatine and Bill Harper (Carrie) of Muscatine; and his siblings, Elizabeth Casillas (Sergio) of Davenport, Mary Darting of St. Charles, Joseph Harper (Rose) of Muscatine, Barbara Bockwoldt (James) of St. Charles, Thomas Harper (Mary) of Muscatine and Dorothy Soppeland (Don) of LeClaire.
