He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest W. Paetz and Lottie Fisher Paetz; his wife Joan C. Verdow; his granddaughter Jenna Bozarth-Paetz; and his daughter-in-law Jody Paetz.
He is survived by: his sons, Allen Paetz of Illinois City, Larry Paetz (Jenny) of Muscatine, Greg Paetz (Maureen) of Muscatine and Robert 'Bob' Paetz (Tammy) of Muscatine; and his grandchildren, Gabe, Max, Elle Paetz and Joshua Bozarth.
Memorials may be made to the Muscatine Arboretum in Elvin's name and sent to his family at 2806 Lucas Street, Muscatine.
