She was predeceased by: her parents, J. Frederick Tomfeld and Jean B. Tomfeld (Darrow); her husband George A. Michael; and her brother Madison Tomfeld (Mary). She is survived by: her children, Matthew Michael of Milwaukee and Katheryn Van Pelt (Ken) of Ames; and her grandchildren, Megan Van Pelt (Jackson Johnson) and Brandon Van Pelt.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Wesley United Methodist Church or Sunnybrook in Marion's name.
